Summary

The Great Lakes Science Center is non-profit museum located on the shores of Lake Erie, in Cleveland, OH.

The business’ goals were: Re-imagine the Paintball Theater in the MythBusters exhibition in a way that would be approved by the exhibit manufacturers, would enable the museum to create new local industry contacts, enable the museum to achieve its Maker activity goals, and reduce my department’s staffing costs.

The result was: a Duct Tape Studio was created in collaboration with the Museum’s development team, exhibit team, and the exhibit manufacturers. Development secured a large duct tape donation, exhibits created three Maker stations, and the exhibit manufacturers brought in new duct tape artifacts from the show. Each month of the exhibit culminated in a public event testing a large-scale community built duct tape creation which was recorded and publicized on local tv news stations and social media.
